ACREC implemented a research project aimed at developing specific and measurable anti-corruption benchmarks for Ukraine, which can be used to assess the effectiveness of reforms in the process of European integration.
As part of the project, the ACREC team conducted research into international standards and EU accession criteria in the field of anti-corruption, focusing on identifying practical and measurable benchmarks that can guide the progress of anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to analysing the European Union’s approaches to assessing reforms in candidate countries and the possibility of adapting such approaches to the Ukrainian context.
The following analytical materials were developed within the project:
- Research: Anti-Corruption Benchmarks for Ukraine’s EU Accession: Rethinking Target Indicators and Strategic Priorities
- Policy Brief: Benchmarks in the field of preventing and combating corruption for the Fundamental Reforms cluster
In 2024, a presentation of the research results was held in Kyiv. The presentation was attended by representatives and specialist experts from leading anti-corruption institutions and international organisations: the International Renaissance Foundation, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, the CHESNO Movement, the Anti-Corruption Headquarters, GIZ Ukraine, the Centre for Political and Legal Reforms, and the Ukrainian Youth Foundation:
The research project was implemented with the support of the European Union and the International Renaissance Foundation within the joint initiative “European Renaissance of Ukraine”. The published results of the project reflect the views of the authors and do not necessarily represent the position of the European Union or the International Renaissance Foundation.
