Workshop: “How to make the state share the information?”

We kindly invite you to visit the workshop of the Anti-Corruption Hub on “How to make the state share the information?”.

Corruption is a crime that is possible as long as nobody knows about it. The access to information in possession of the state is the main tool for countering corruption. Therefore, in most cases the data that is supposed to be open remains hidden. And the person to file an information request gets a run-around reply instead of a specific answer.

  • How to draft an information request;
  • How to submit it better;
  • What answer should be given by the authorities and what is the deadline for preparing the answer;
  • What information may not be restricted by the state;
  • How to appeal the unlawful denial of access to information in the effective way.

These and many other questions will answered during the workshop by the Anti-Corruption Hub on: “How to make the state share the information?”.

Any volunteers can try and file their own information request in support of analytical work done by the ACREC team (research details shall be mentioned in the course of the lecture).

Instructor – Oksana Nesterenko, professor of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Cand. Sc. {Law}, Fulbright Graduate Student Exchange Program (Kennan Institute Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars), member of the working group on drafting the Law of Ukraine “On access to Public Information” and the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Individuals who Report or Disclose Information on threats or Harm to the Public Interest”.

Join us on February 23rd at 7:00 pm in the premise of the Anti-Corruption Hub: 8/5 Voloska Str., KMArtSpace.
