Preparing specialists in the field of anti-corruption education is one of ACREC’s key areas of activity. This is why the project “Developing Anti-Corruption Education: Model for the Region”, lasted from 2019 to 2020, was implemented. As part of the project, a regional conference dedicated to the development of educational programmes in the field of anti-corruption was held at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
The aim of the event was to promote the introduction of anti-corruption educational programmes in post-Soviet countries based on the ACREC model, which serves as an educational hub in the field of anti-corruption for young researchers and practitioners in Ukraine.
At the event, participants discussed key ideas for implementing interdisciplinary educational programmes in the field of anti-corruption, opportunities for adapting ACREC’s educational programmes in countries across the region, and the challenges associated with developing and funding educational initiatives in the field of anti-corruption.
As a result, it was agreed to prepare a resolution on cooperation between national anti-corruption education hubs and to develop a roadmap for the implementation of anti-corruption education programmes in the countries of the region.
There are plans to implement similar educational initiatives in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan, drawing on the experience and educational initiatives of ACREC in Ukraine.
