Four-day training for the Ministry of Infrastructure: photos and numbers

The fight against corruption is a never-ending task, and our educational efforts are continuous and tireless.

In the hottest days of July 2023, we conducted a unique four-day course on corruption prevention in infrastructure for anti-corruption officers in the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Developed by the Anti-Corruption Research and Education Center at NaUKMA in collaboration with the “Innovations for Successful Societies” program at Princeton University, this course covered:

  • International standards for assessing corruption risks
  • Corruption prevention in the process of rebuilding Ukraine
  • Types of corruption during contractor selection
  • Corruption prevention programs in the private sector

You can check out the infographic for a recap of the event 👇

The course was led by Richard Messick, a consultant on legal development and anti-corruption issues. A special guest was Hemish Goldie-Scott, technical advisor for CoST, who spoke about the Construction Sector Transparency initiative (CoST).

During the training, anti-corruption officers gained knowledge and skills for implementing infrastructure projects during the rebuild and restoration of the country. Officials learned everything about the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability, as well as ways to implement the Ministry’s Anti-Corruption Officers’ Professional Development Strategy.

The course is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is being held with the financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation and the USAID project “Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions”.
The content and opinions expressed during the course are the responsibility of the Anti-Corruption Research and Education Centre and do not necessarily reflect the views of the International Renaissance Foundation, USAID, or the United States Government.
